If you are pregnant then you might be receiving a lot of advice on what to eat, what to wear, what to read etc. There is no shortage of suggestions from your family and friends. The list will never end and will keep on going. But, what you generally do not hear are the things you should not do or avoid during pregnancy.
So, here we are to let you know a few of them:
Alcohol
Drinking alcohol while being pregnant is a big No No. It may cause fetal alcohol syndrome. These disorders might cause health issues to your baby in the womb. We are sure you don’t want that. So, NO ALCOHOL
Eating Certain Foods
Your doctor will be the best guide to this. But, we have a list of a few food items which were asked by the doctors to avoid: Raw Meat & Fish, Sushi, raw eggs, Chinese cuisine, pineapple and papaya.
Caffeine
To all the coffee lovers, your baby won’t have that for at least 9 months. So, pack your coffee makers in the cupboard.
Exercise
This one is totally under the guidance of your doctor. Your gynecologist will explain to you which all exercises can be performed depending on your health conditions.
Adventurous activities
After your first trimester, pregnant women should avoid any activity which carries high risk of falling, including skiing, amusement parks, skating, rock climbing etc.
Heavy Lifting
Pregnant women should avoid heavy lifting. This might increase the risk of back pain, pulled muscles and preterm labor.
Smoking
Smoking is injurious to health and if you are pregnant it is injurious to your baby too. Quit smoking now.
Medication
There are a few OTC medicines which pregnant women should avoid. Your health advisor will help you know that. A few of them are ibuprofen, cold medicines, flu medicines, acne medicines, any herbal medication etc.
Remember, you are not going to be pregnant forever. So, chill and love this 9 month process.You will be back to your track once you have a healthy and happy baby out.
