Anything Ginger – Anything from ginger ale, ginger snaps to ginger in a bottle with honey and water or ginger tea, anything would work fine.
2. Try aromatherapy – Smelling mint, lemon, or orange may help alleviate nausea. Try placing a cotton ball or tissue infused with scented oil under your nose.
3. Avoid fried, fatty, greasy foods – Try to steer clear of fatty and greasy foods, very sweet foods, spicy foods, and gas-producing foods. This is not the time to try out that new Indian restaurant! You can also combat nausea at meals by keeping foods and beverages separate (avoid drinking beverages while you’re eating).
4. Take a walk – Some women find that exercise helps their symptoms. Try taking an extra walk during the day, going for a swim, or joining a prenatal yoga class. Keep in mind: exercise is strongly encouraged during pregnancy, but always consult with your provider before embarking on a new exercise routine.
5. Peppermint Tea – Peppermint tea is supposed to help and, if nothing else, your barf will be minty fresh. It contains ginger root, spearmint, peppermint, chamomile and lemon balm, plus, it’s naturally caffeine free and organic.
6. Anise or fennel seeds – Chewing on these soothes upset stomachs. Keep some fennel seeds near your bed side and chew on them whenever you feel queasy.
